Rustic and Log Furniture: Embracing Nature's Story

At Real Rustic Furniture, each of our pieces is crafted from genuine wood, where we celebrate the natural imperfections like cracks, twists, and knots. These are not flaws but unique characteristics that tell a story. Whether using solid slabs, logs, or reclaimed wood with nail holes and saw marks, these details pay tribute to the history embedded in the materials. Wood, much like its environment, changes with humidity—it expands, contracts, and sometimes cracks. Though we kiln-dry our slabs to minimize movement, some shifts might still happen, even in epoxy fillers. No worries—we can fill these or highlight them with stain, depending on your preference. With proper care, your furniture will last, adding warmth and character to your home for years to come.

Our handcrafted rustic and log furniture offers a unique experience—no two pieces are the same, just like siblings, not identical twins. Made from natural materials such as barn or reclaimed wood, each piece boasts its own charm, complete with natural blemishes, nail holes, and aged textures. Weathered over decades, these elements create a story, making each item one-of-a-kind. Expect variations in color, shape, and finish—an inherent beauty of these materials. Given the tricks of lighting on screens, you might uncover delightful surprises when your furniture arrives!

Production times vary by product, with availability estimates provided. Each item undergoes a thorough quality inspection. If any piece doesn’t meet our standards, it's returned for craftsmanship adjustments and re-inspected. Quality is paramount, so we can't promise exact delivery dates. Backordered items have separate timelines, visible at Checkout. For lead time on these items, check before completing your order. Keep in mind our Cancellation policies may apply once an order is placed.

These guidelines are also applicable to orders deemed "abandoned" when we have been unable to contact the customer for a period of three weeks or more.

RETURN POLICY

Goods may be returned within 10 business days following receipt. They must be returned to Real Rustic Furniture in their original condition. Utilizing the initial packaging is highly recommended to facilitate this process.

Real Rustic Furniture does not offer reimbursement for packaging required to return an item. Customers should determine when it is suitable to discard the packaging.

A 25% fee is applied to returned orders, barring those with manufacturing defects, notable shipping damage, or incorrect items shipped. Shipping fees are non-refundable, and customers bear the cost of return shipping, which will be deducted from the refund.

Real Rustic Furniture proudly uses genuine wood for all cabinets, furniture, and mantels. Many items are crafted from real logs and solid wood slabs, embracing natural features like cracks, twists, and color variations, which are not classified as defects. Natural wood will show knots and cracking. For some products, such as tables, cracks may be filled with clear resin unless instructed otherwise. Most items remain unfilled to retain their unique character.

Our reclaimed wood may display nail holes, board cupping, old pegs, repairs, saw marks, water stains, worm holes, bug traces, sunspots, and dents. These are intentional characteristics, viewed as character rather than imperfections, enhancing the authentic appearance and historical craftsmanship.

Metal elements in our furniture might display welding marks or inherent imperfections but are not considered defects due to the handcrafted nature.

If it doesn't pass, it's sent back for adjustments, then re-inspected. Once approved, the item moves to our Crating and Shipping facility, which may take up to 15 business days before the shipping company picks it up for delivery. Due to our dedication to quality and unforeseen circumstances, we cannot promise specific delivery dates.

Property Damage Policy

Damage by Delivery Company

Any damage to customer property caused by the delivery company is their responsibility. This may include interior issues like scuffed floors or walls, carpet damage, or exterior problems such as yard, fence, or structural damage. Customers must file claims directly with the delivery company. While Real Rustic Furniture cannot file these claims, we can assist in initiating the process if needed.

Damage by Product Materials

Real Rustic Furniture is not responsible for damage caused by the materials of the product, such as natural oils seeping from the wood or mold growth due to improper placement or lack of airflow from missing leveling hardware.

Warranty Information

At Real Rustic Furniture, we are committed to the quality of our craftsmanship. We offer a one-year warranty to the original buyer, covering repairs or replacements for defects in materials or workmanship. If you notice any issues within the first year, contact us, and we'll arrange an inspection if necessary. While we prefer to repair, we'll replace items with similar style and quality if that's not feasible. We cover reasonable labor costs and ensure replacements are shipped in the same manner to the original location. Please note, this warranty only applies to purchases made directly from us and is intended for typical household use, excluding commercial wear.

To maintain your furniture and warranty, follow a few care guidelines. Avoid using harsh cleaners and abrasives. Although we don't cover damage from pets, accidents, or normal wear, here's a tip: Maintain indoor humidity at 40-45% to help prevent cracking or warping, and keep furniture away from heat sources and direct sunlight to avoid discoloration. With proper care, your furniture can last beautifully for years, and if any issues arise in the first year, we've got you covered!

This warranty provides specific legal rights, which may vary by state. Aside from other rights, the remedies in this warranty outline Real Rustic Furniture's responsibilities. Any disputes will be governed by Michigan law.

Warranty Limitations

Real Rustic Furniture is not liable for consequential or incidental damages, or for any loss or damage beyond the furniture itself resulting from a defect. Some states do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

We disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a specific purpose. Some states do not allow exclusions on how long an implied warranty lasts, so these may not apply to you.

  • You are responsible for basic maintenance, like tightening loose screws or bolts.
  • If identical materials aren’t available, we may use substitutes of equal or greater value.
  • The warranty excludes furniture subjected to abuse, misuse, improper humidity, or unsanitary conditions.
  • It does not cover furniture used commercially, such as in hotels or nursing homes.
  • Over time, heirloom furniture may develop minor checks and imperfections, which are not defects.
  • Dining chairs may experience minor movement over time; this is normal and not a defect.
  • Unfinished furniture and pieces with "Liquid Glass" epoxy finish are not covered under this warranty.
